I believe God is not an individual: God’s will is your will; if you can get rid of that  age-old misunderstanding, then you have taken step along the road of progression.

 

You must get down to facts and try to realise that you are spirit people living in a material body, all parts of God, parts of the universe; God is in you and you are in him, we are all intermingled and all go to make part of the great force of life. Therefore as all thoughts registered on the ether and project into the world they will take root, so see that you direct them properly. God is willing to give you everything you desire, all the things that you need in this world are there. You cannot live without air to breathe; it is there free to you all. You must eat and drink, you must have warmth, the water you drink is in the streams, the food grows on the soil, there is coal in the earth, all these things are provided freely, therefore God is willing that you should live. These things have only acquired a money value because of mans greed.

 

YOU ARE A LAW UNTO YOURSELF

 

It seems extraordinary to me that a number of people in this world think they need more than others. If you look around, you will see that there are some who can find comfort and pleasure in little things and be satisfied, others have everything they want, plenty of money, beautiful houses and yet they are not happy. These people have surrounded themselves with material possessions and forgotten that they are part of the God Spirit and consequently that they owe something to the world. You owe to yourselves and each other the right to live freely according to your own judgement. It is by your own will that you accomplish anything, not by the will of one divine person situated miles away from you.

 

GOD IS WILLING TO GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU DESIRE

 

If you desire to make a success of your life, if you desire to be a doctor or a musician, then that is the will of God for you, because all of you collectively make up that great force which we call God. Everything you ask for, everything you need is within your own power to materialise.  I would like you to realise that you are a law unto yourself. Each of you has a little kingdom to rule and each is living in an entirely different state of consciousness from his neighbour. Take for example a family all very devoted to each other, all living together in the same house, and yet the husband does not know the inner self of his wife nor the mother the innermost thoughts of her children. From the moment they are born the children began building their own conditions around them and come to an understanding with themselves. As you think or do things either helpful or harmful , so you build corresponding conditions round yourself, it is up to you to try to eliminate those things in yourself which are not good and put in their place something which will be worth while.

 

GOD`S WIL IS YOUR WILL

 

It is especially important at this time that you should realise that the will of God is your will, because you are standing on the threshold of a new era. Men and women are thinking more for themselves. An old orthodox idea has passed too, whether the new world will be a success or not is in your hands and depends upon each and all of you. On your will. All the time that you are saying “I can do nothing about it, I must leave it to the will of God”, you are getting nowhere. That line of thoughts seems to me an easy way of escape for people who are to lazy to accept responsibility. If you want anything sufficiently and believe you can have it, it is by your own efforts and understanding that you will obtain it. So when you venture into this new era which is surely coming, do try to stir up within yourselves sufficient enthusiasm to build up something which will be beneficial to yourselves and mankind.

 

ONLY EXPERINCE TEACHES

 

You would not have been placed in this world if it were not for the purpose of progression; to this end it is necessary that you experience some things which are not pleasant. You cannot learn without the test of many experiences. There are people who cannot bring themselves to attend a Spiritualist meeting because the idea causes them uneasiness; they fear to seek the truth. One person I know said, “I don’t know if such things are possible but I will have nothing to do with it”. That is not wise, you see she deliberately cutting herself off from experience which might have taught her much. God cannot do anything unless you give him the channel to work through and he can only make use of your own efforts.  If you are interested in what I say to you then these teachings will be a success. If you are not interested they will be a failure so far as you are concerned; so you see it is your will working again.

 

THE POWER OF THOUGHT

 

The great God power is functioning through you today; it is simply that power of thought which you bring into action when you strongly desire any particular thing to happen. So when you pray, pray confidently knowing that it is possible for you to have all you ask, do not be hesitant or fearless  lest God should not wish you to have what you have been praying for. Such an attitude nullifies your prayers and destroys their power. Remember that you mankind have the power of God. Use it, build it, and give it a chance to perform miracles. You can perform what you call “miracles” if you become conscious of the power in your midst.

 

DON`T SAY YOU CANNOT

 

Don’t let anyone crush you when you find conditions around you difficult. Don’t say “The task is too hard for me”. Just ask that the obstacles may be removed from our path and then go forward in confidence. Eventually, you will build up such power around yourselves that you will be able to overcome obstacles which seemed insurmountable. You are told that God manifest within you, this power which I have spoken of is here in this world today, but it is held in check because you have not learned how to release its force. Think of the power of God as a freely running stream and then imagine the stream becoming blocked by bricks and rubbish so that it no longer flows smoothly   but is obliged to trickle through and around the obstructions. That is what is happening when, instead of allowing God’s power to run freely you are obstructing its flow and slowing down your progression. Now imagine the stream as boundless and all mankind as channels from it. You can draw from this source whenever you like so long as you do not erect obstacles in your way.

 

I hope that you have understood what I have tried to express, that you must become positive, that God’s will is your will, and that all humanity is linked to God.
