A typical dictionary definition of science is that it is a systematic knowledge natural or physical phenomenon, truth ascertained by observation experiment and induction or there is an arrangement of facts known under classes. Theatrical knowledge as distinguish from practical.

From this it will be seen that science observes and learns and we we may say the same thing about spiritualism and through observation of its phenomenon and examination of the information conveyed, as built up philosophical system knowledge and therefore it to observes and learns.

It is a scientific fact that nothing in the universe come to an abrupt end, although it state or condition may change. This is exactly what happens to the human spirit in its transitions. It transforms into a new level of existence, just as certain substances are transferred by certain conditions between the solid and liquid and gaseous states. Am thinking of instantaneous  coal, and when ignited gives off light, heat, smoke and also the ash which is left after combustion. With science it is often the verity of observations which is important to investigation, mutant laws of motion, may well be regarded as the foundation stone of all science, its the conception of motion we have the basic of law of the entire universe, there is one single cosmic law which explains and applies to all nature and that is, that everything is in state of constant motions

There are only two basic realities, substance and motion. Substance which includes matter and ether is the body of reality. Motion is the consciousness, the mind or the spirit of reality. These two are invisible, they are not to be found separately, and everything that exists is in a state of motion. We are living in a time of when science is constantly making new discoveries, and in our attempts to relate spiritualism to orthodox scientific thought. It will be necessary to constantly to change our ideas and concepts in exactly the same way that science changes. Nothing ever stands still, therefore our knowledge is always in perfect and we must be ready at all times to absorb new knowledge as and when it becomes available. Our memories and thoughts are that dynamic energy pattern which have there basis in the substance of the ether. These energy patterns in the ethereal brain of the visiting spirit radiate with control and consciousness waves of energy which can be received by the etheric brain and senses of the medium and so we have spirit communication.

It is generally thought that these radiations are electro-magnetic in nature, it is all important of spiritualists to understand electricity. A current of electricity is a moving stream of ethereal particles called electrons. The electricity of the atom consists of revolving electrons. It is also thought that the ether it self is electro-magnetic. According to "Einstein", our ether is nothing else that the electro-magnetic fields or auras are of materiel stars and planets. The magnetic healing with passes relies upon two simple laws of elector-magnetism; one, moving electricity causes magnetism, two moving magnetism causes a flow of electricity.

Many people describe spiritualism as the science of life. Spiritualism has with stood many scientific investigation we include the researches of, "Sir William Crooks". If we are to except science as truth, then truth must be the highest form of religion, and it is hoped that spiritualism can make the claim. A scientific religion, in a scientific age.

Dr Carl E. Mular", of Switzerland, he was a member of International Spiritualist Federation. This is an extract from Dr Mular, dated 19th March 1964.

When talking of proof I usually emphasize that every science must find its own methods of investigation and it is unfair to ask psychic science to give proof of this or that fashion borrowed from physics or some other science. It is important to note that outside mathematic and geometry there is knowhere proof to the exclusion of other possible explanations, in all fields of natural science proof of a theory rests of a Varity of observations. In Spiritualism we have a special case, in as much as some phenomenon are intelligent and proffer there own theoretical explanation, a speciality never encountered in physics or chemistry were theories must be invented.

Dr Mular, remarks, it is of great interest to realise that spiritualism we have a special case, unique in the animals of science and that case is through the phenomena communication, intelligent beings offer an explanation of what the phenomena is all about, therefore they tell us, who they are, what they are, and why have they come. In the pass spiritualism as come in to a great deal of disrepute, through the media, because of what appears to be an un-scientific approach. To be many problems associated in our teachings. In more recent years I have heard many lectures state that spiritualism cannot be examined scientifically because of the experiments of phenomena cannot be repeated. Also that within mediumship there appears to be very unstable conditions; for example, on one occasion the medium may prove to be very accurate in their mediumistic work and at other times for no apparent reasons the results maybe very negative. However, if we turn our gaze towards science we shall find there, that there are many unstable phenomena which exists in the materiel universe and we don't not ignore them or run away from them, just because they are unstable. But rather do we, invent special means, tools and methods so they can be observed and controlled. We may think for instance of an atomic pile, we may think of various atomic substances, which require extremely special regulation and precautions.

Taking the question of instability a step further that according to biblical records there were times when Jesus would not or could not perform the various gifts of spirit to which the people had become accustomed. I suggested it may have been, that the condition that were presented to him, were not suitable for the production for phenomena. We need to consider these same ideas and thoughts when thinking of spiritualism of a science.

Science must speak a common language with religion, a concept that I whole heartedly agree with. I think that the same thought was express much earlier by a poems called `The happy encounter`, by Walter de-lamer. I saw sweet poetry turn troubled eyes on shaggy science nosing on the grass, for that way for poetry must pass, on her long pilgrimage to paradise. He snuffled, grunted, squealed, perplex by flies, parched weather worn, and near of sight less, from peering close where there very little was, lindens secluded from the open skies that poetry in bravery went down and called his name soft clear and fearlessly stooped low and stroked his mussel over grown, refreshed his grout with dew, wipe pour and free his eyes and low, laughed loud for joy for to see, in those great deeps the hazer of her own.

Lets us all hope in our work may build bridges from science to religion that mankind may come to speak a common language leading to real peace and progress in our world.

May I suggest at a scientific level that you read the supreme adventure by Dr Robert Crookall, published by the churches fellowship for psychical study.
